Why Invision

A wall is only
as good as its
worst metre

Materials we'd use on our own house

High-grade acrylic-modified and cement-based products, finished with DULUX AcraShield membrane where the wall needs a genuine weather barrier. The coating system carries a 10-year manufacturer guarantee.

Preparation is most of the job

Old coatings stripped, surfaces keyed, movement joints respected. Almost every failed render we're called to fix went wrong before the first coat went on.

Screen-tested workmanship

Our work has been filmed on national renovation television — a reasonable stress test for finish quality and hitting a build program.

How a job runs

  1. 01

    Site visit

We walk the job, sound the existing walls and talk through the finish you're after. Written quote, itemised, no charge.

  2. 02

    Prep & protect

Windows, paving and gardens masked. Substrate cleaned, keyed and made good before a single coat goes up.

  3. 03

    Render coats

Built up in stages and cured properly. We don't chase a wall dry to shave a day off the program.

  4. 04

    Finish & hand back

Texture or membrane applied, site cleaned down, warranty paperwork handed over with the keys.

Common questions

Questions we get
on every quote

How much does rendering cost in Melbourne?

Most residential facade work lands between roughly $40 and $90 per square metre depending on the system, the condition of the substrate and access. A straightforward single-storey acrylic render sits at the lower end; heritage lime work, two-storey access and heavy repair work push it up. Every quote we give is itemised after a site visit — we don't price rendering over the phone.

How long does a rendering job take?

A typical single-storey house is three to five working days including preparation and cure time between coats. Two-storey and heavily repaired facades run one to two weeks. Weather matters — we don't apply finish coats into rain or a cold snap just to hit a date.

Can you render over painted brick?

Usually yes, but the paint gets tested first. If it's sound we key and bond over it; if it's flaking or chalky it comes off, because the new render will only ever be as strong as the layer underneath it.

Will the render crack?

Buildings move, so hairline movement has to go somewhere. We mesh over stress points, respect existing control joints and choose flexible acrylic systems on walls that move — which is why the cracking you see on failed jobs is almost always a preparation or jointing decision, not the product.

Do you render in winter?

Yes, with adjustments. Melbourne winters slow the cure, so coats go on thinner, we work with the weather window rather than against it, and we won't finish-coat a wall that can't dry. Winter is often the quietest time to book.

What warranty do you offer?

The DULUX AcraShield coating systems we install carry a 10-year manufacturer guarantee, and we stand behind our own workmanship on top of that.

Do you take on repair-only jobs?

We do. A lot of our work is drummy sections cut out, cracks bridged and an elevation recoated — usually a fraction of the cost of a full re-render, and we'll tell you honestly which of the two your wall actually needs.

Which Melbourne suburbs do you service?

Metropolitan Melbourne — the CBD, north, north-east, east, bayside and west — plus the Macedon Ranges and parts of regional Victoria. We don't service far-south areas such as Cranbourne, Pakenham, Berwick, Frankston or the Mornington Peninsula.

Do you provide a free quote?

Yes. We visit the site, sound the walls, measure up and send a written itemised quote with no obligation.
